Beneath The St. Lawrence

Beneath the St. Lawrence explores how the St. Lawrence Seaway and Power Project reshaped the region—its landscape, its communities, and its identity. At the Saunders Hydro Dam Visitors Centre, visitors discover the engineering achievement that transformed the river. The Lost Villages Museum preserves the stories of the ten communities submerged in the 1950s, while Lost Villages Brewery keeps their memory alive through its welcoming atmosphere, artwork, and locally crafted beer. Visual artist Nathan Goswell adds an emotional layer to the narrative, creating art inspired by the land and the people whose histories remain woven into the area.
